Step 1
Make sure your grill is clean to avoid altering the flavor of your hamburger.
Step 2
Build a charcoal pile or set your gas grill to medium heat.
Place the buns in the oven to warm at 200F.
Prepare your selected ingredients, slice onions and tomatoes. Fry bacon rashers.
Step 3
While grill is heating, remove the beef patties from the refrigerator and lightly season with salt and pepper on both sides (no need to let patties rest before cooking or add additional seasonings).
Thaw frozen beef patties in the refrigerator, never at room temperature or under water.
Step 4
Place the patties on the grill. Only flip the patties once, halfway to desired doneness. Avoid flareups and burning. Move the patties to a cooler part of the grill if necessary. Use an instant read thermometer to monitor patty temperature to avoid under or over cooking.
Fry you eggs if you are adding this topping.
Step 5
Let patties rest about 1 minute after removing from grill. Remember, temperature will continue to rise after removing steaks from the grill.
Add sliced cheese immediately the patty is removed from the grill. The heat in patty will melt the cheese.
Step 6
Assemble the hamburgers. Spread the warm buns with your selected sauces. Add the patty and the selected toppings.
